I’m passionate about education policy, practice and people, with an inherent interest in innovation.

I Tweet and blog on education, and am sometimes in the media.

I’m currently freelancing, doing research, policy and communications projects for a range of education clients.

I’ve worked previously as Head of Research and Data at The Careers & Enterprise Company, an employer-led organisation that has been set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work

Prior to that I was founding CEO of NAHT Edge, a new technology-enabled teacher union and professional association, for middle leaders in schools, launched in Sep 2014.

Before that I was Head of Research at the Pearson Think Tank and in the Office of the Chief Education Advisor (OCEA), Sir Michael Barber. I was Editor of Open Ideas and of Blue Skies.

My early career involved stints across government and a start-up in LA.

I also volunteer, including:

I’m a FRSA, a photo amateur and a Yorkshireman, actually.
